Last Week of Preparation

My trip is getting closer and closer! 8 days and counting. I am begining to feel overwhelmed with all the packing that has to be done. The process would be much easier if I knew what to expect. I wonder, what am I expected to wear as a visitor? What toys and goodies can I bring for the kids? What do they/don't they already have? How will I access clean water? Should I worry about people stealing from me? What about my safety?

As I am writing my doubts outloud it's easy to see that they are so "petty"... and "self centered." I should know that God will take care of these small things. And it's possible that I'm unaware of the things even worth worrying about.

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers these next few days of preparation! Thanks!

Hey Brian-
Thanks for commenting. I am in Malawi, Africa. Its near the South-Eastern border...almost completely surrounded by Mozambique. I'm working with a ministry that serves orphans. I love it! When are you coming back?

Taco. Short for Takondwa. I stayed with this little boy's family in Matapila. He always came in room unexpectedly...so sweet

Kids at the water hole.

I took this picture at one of the feeding centers. They are more than likely orphans, there to get food.

This is Rosaline. She's about 2 months old and has a sweet twin brother named Chisomo.

Play day at the Crisis Nursery. We try to get the infants outside to enjoy the sun whenever we can.

These were just a few of the women waiting for us when we arrived in their village, Chiwangam'be. We bring them medical assistance once a month.

Mphatso is one of the orphans I like spending time with most. He tries to take care of other babies in the nursery by stroking their faces when they are upset. It is so sweet!
